Fullmetal Alchemist and Gundam Seed are two of my most favorite anime shows.
(spoiler alert if you haven't watched much of the series) Fullmetal alchemist is about two boys named Al and Ed Elric. They used to believe that equvalent exchange or alchemy to be the world one and only truth. After losing the life of their mother, Ed and Al try to bring her back to life. This went horribly wrong. Al lost his whole body and Ed lost his left leg. Ed went to a gateway to get his brother's soul back; he sacrificed his right arm for his brother. Ed attached Al's soul to a metal shell and went to Winry to get an auto mail leg and arm. Their new goal in life was to find the Philosiphers Stone and to get their bodies back to their original states. Ed soon became a State Alchemist and was sent on missions to help the state.
